Courts, IRCC and foreign authorities do not accept just any translation. The wrong kind, or an improperly supported one, gets a whole application sent back.
When you submit a document in another language to a court, to IRCC, or to a foreign authority, they usually require a certified translation, and often supporting proof such as a translator's affidavit sworn before a commissioner or notary. A casual or self-made translation is routinely rejected.
Requirements vary by institution, but they generally want a complete and accurate translation together with a statement or affidavit attesting to its accuracy. For immigration documents in particular, an improperly certified translation can delay or undermine an application.
We help ensure translations are properly certified and supported by the right sworn affidavit, so they are accepted by the court, government or authority that asked for them.
